On Sunday 2nd April 2017 Race Against Blood Cancer will have several runners taking part in the Lilleshall Monumental 10K run to raise valuable funds to further our cause.
Even more importantly we plan to run a donor drive on the day in aid of the #Match4Khaleel campaign, which is an ongoing pursuit to find a lifesaving stem cell donor match for 12-year-old Khaleel from Telford.
For anyone interested in taking part in the event, it’s worth noting that the course is arguably Shropshire’s most scenic multi-terrain 10K, which is set in a rural village just outside Newport and is now in its 8th year. The course is mainly off road and with the kind permission of private landowners, it takes in woodland and tracks, passing several historic landmarks.
If you’re interested in joining our team of runners or would like to come down on the day to help us sign up donors to the stem cell register please email email@example.com
A year has passed since we became an official charity. And what a year it has been with so many smiles, stories and achievements. And we would love to celebrate with you.
On 6th August, we will be celebrating our first anniversary at Red Gallery in Shoreditch. It promises to be an amazing night with loads of great acts, amazing people and cool vibes.
With a diverse night of entertainment ranging from live music featuring rock, pop and soul, great acts like Norris ‘Da Boss’ Windross & MC Creed and some of London’s best funky house, RnB, hip-hop and UK garage DJs we’re expecting a sell-out.
Early bird tickets are currently on sale and going quickly so make sure you get your ticket soon https://billetto.co.uk/en/events/thefutureisnow and come and enjoy an amazing night full of surprises.
We will also be giving all of those of you who have not yet signed up as a donor the opportunity to do so as we continue to look for a match for Tommy.
We look forward to seeing you and all your friends and family there for an unforgettable celebration!
Another busy weekend is lined up for us as we will be heading to Kids Fest in Shrewsbury on 23rd/24th April.
It will be a very busy weekend for our Race Against Blood Cancer engagement team who will be at Shropshire Kids Fest on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th April. With entertainment for kids of all ages, it will be a great opportunity for us to raise awareness for the #Match4Tommy campaign which started when 4 year old Tommy was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in January this year.
Crowds of over 10,000 people, including children of all ages, are expected over the course of the two day event with many activities to keep the kids busy while the parents and teenagers from ages of 16+ take 5 minutes to sign up as new stem cell and bone marrow donors.
We are still looking for volunteers to join the team, if you are free and would like to help spread the word and have fun, please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org
You can also help us by spreading the word and posting within your networks. As a recent registrant told us at one of our latest events – “I registered after seeing the RABC posts. Even though I had researched stem cell and cord blood when pregnant I had no idea becoming a donor and finding a match could be done through a simple cheek swab.”
Follow us on social media and stay tuned for news, photos and updates throughout the event!

It promises to be a great weekend where we hope to raise huge amounts of awareness and of course, sponsorship which will in turn help us save more lives!
If you are interested in entering this year’s event with us, there is still time! And don’t panic if you have never done a triathlon before, with a variety of distances, routes and wave categories to choose from, there is something for everyone!

On August Bank holiday weekend, Race Against Blood Cancer is excited to be supporting the ACLT with volunteers to help drive donor registrations at the Notting Hill Carnival.
Known as one of the largest street festivals in the world and the biggest in Europe, the carnival has, since its start in 1966, grown to become a real icon of British culture. Originally calling on the British West Indian community the carnival has now become a key date for people from around the world to celebrate, making it a real hub of mixed cultures, ethnicities and fun.
Amid festive crowds, jerk chicken stalls and music stages, Race Against Blood Cancer will be present at the heart of the carnival from 12pm to 5pm on the corner of Lancaster Road and Ladbroke Grove.
This will be Race Against Blood Cancer’s first presence at the carnival and we look forward to supporting ACLT in what will hopefully become an annual presence to increase diversity on the donor register and help save lives.
If you are passionate, outgoing and keen to help on weekend 30th & 31st, please get in touch with email@example.com who will give you more details.
