Race Against Blood Cancer returned to University last week as they attended Wolverhampton University Freshers Fair.
Straight up from London, the Race Against Blood Cancer team travelled to the Midlands and spread the word by visiting both Wolverhampton and Walsall campuses.
In total 48 new bone marrow and stem cell donors were registered. This was a great achievement given that none of the students were aware that Race Against Blood Cancer would be in attendance.
Additional to the number of new donors registered, several people volunteered on the day to help ensure Race Against Blood Cancer has a regular presence throughout the year at suitable events and the university themselves offered to help spread the word further, not least by marketing the charity on their website.
Given the ethnic and culture diversity of the university and the aforementioned support, we’re very excited to establish an ongoing partnership with Wolverhampton University.
On behalf of the Race Against Blood Cancer team, a huge thank you to everyone who supported us in making this drive possible and to those who joined us on the day.
